Insomnia 2012 Cancelled It is with great regret that we have had to cancel Insomnia this year. Despite a great deal of effort from a number of people, we have been unable to sign up enough riders to run the event without making a substantial loss and enough volunteers to run the event safely.

I understand this will be very disappointing to a lot of people who have been working to promote it, training to ride it and looking forward to being involved in it. It was always going to be a big task to run an event as large as this and to even attempt to do it with a hand full of volunteer organisers and without the support of a major sponsor was always going to be a challenge. We did get very close to being able to run it and the fact that we got as far as we did is testament to the skills and hard work of the organisers. I would like to offer my thanks to those who worked so hard and got so close.

We will have a think about an alternative event for next year so stay tuned and if you do have any ideas please don’t be shy to suggest something!
